1.06 - History of sPzJg Abt. 653

Karlheinz Munch

This is an excellent and enormous volume (558 pages) and covers the schwere Panzerjager Abteilung 653 with the Ferdinand, Elephant and Jagdtiger. Because both the s.PzJg.Abt 653 and Str.Pz.Abt 216 were part of the schwere Panzerjager-Regiment 656 some information and a few photos of Str.Pz.Abt 216 are included. I would not buy it for the Sturmpanzer information alone because even though some of the photos appear to be unique they are unremarkable, except for the un-cropped photo of the maintenance facility in Italy; though grainy, it is one of my favorites.
